As I sit here working towards the completion of my first semester at Penn State's World Campus, I can't help to reminisce over all my my past academic trials. Surprisingly my college career started in the outdoors with a semester at the National Outdoor Leadership School in Lander Wyoming. Quite different than spending my time at home on the computer completing assignments. This semester consisted of winter camping and telemark skiing across Bridger Teton National Forest just outside of Grand Teton National Park, a month inside the remote north rim of the Grand Canyon, rock climbing in Red Rocks National Conservation Area just outside of Las Vegas, and finally caving in northern Wyoming. It was an incredible experience which taught me to work with and rely on others in very demanding conditions.
